Tested audio interfaces
Mac volume keys.Five proven setups.
These five reference interfaces were tested successfully with VolumeKeys for selecting the device and controlling routed Mac audio with F10, F11 and F12.
This is a tested guide library, not an exclusive support list. VolumeKeys is designed for compatible Core Audio outputs beyond the models below. The complete seven-day trial gives the definitive answer for your own Mac, driver and output path.

A passed model is strong evidence.
Your route is the final answer.
Audio interface behavior can vary with the exact generation, driver, macOS release and selected output pair. A successful reference test proves the core VolumeKeys workflow on that model; it does not turn every sibling device or future driver into an automatic promise.
The seven-day trial includes the complete app and requires no card. Select your real device, try the real output pair and buy only if it works in your studio.
Audio interface compatibility FAQ
The five pages are proof points—not a fence.
Does VolumeKeys work only with these five interfaces?+
No. These are the models with dedicated published test guides. VolumeKeys is designed for compatible Core Audio outputs, including other audio interfaces and supported display audio paths. Because drivers expose routes differently, use the free trial for any model not listed.
What was verified on the five reference interfaces?+
Each reference device was available as a VolumeKeys target and the selected routed output responded to Mac mute, volume down and volume up. The individual guides explain the workflow and boundaries for each interface.
Will VolumeKeys change direct monitoring or recording gain?+
No. VolumeKeys controls Mac audio routed through its software path. Direct monitoring and input gain remain functions of the interface, and a DAW can select the hardware directly for recording.
What if my interface or output pair does not work?+
Do not buy. The complete seven-day trial exists so you can verify your exact Mac, macOS version, driver and output pair first, with no card required.
Your setup decides.
Seven days. Every feature. No card.
Try VolumeKeys with the interface and speakers you actually use. The trial is the compatibility check, and the one-time purchase comes only after it works for you.
