Software license

Yours to use. Easy to understand.

This license explains what a personal VolumeKeys purchase allows. It supplements the Terms and mandatory law.

Translation notice.

We intend this translation to have the same meaning as the English version. It is provided to make the document easier to understand. The English version is the authoritative source used to maintain all translations. If this translation is unclear or differs from the English version, the English version will be used for interpretation only to the extent permitted by applicable law. This notice does not limit mandatory consumer, product-liability, data-protection or other rights, or any applicable language requirement. Contact [email protected] if anything is unclear.

1. License grant

Subject to payment, these terms and a valid entitlement, Studiomood Ltd grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable except as stated below license, terminable only in accordance with section 7, to install and use VolumeKeys for your own personal or internal professional work on one active personal Mac at a time.

The purchase is for the licensed version and permitted updates; ownership of the software itself is not transferred. The license is not a subscription and has no recurring VolumeKeys fee unless a different product is expressly purchased.

2. Trial license

The trial license is temporary, limited to the stated trial period and intended once per eligible Mac installation. Trial controls may not be bypassed or reset by deleting local files, reinstalling or manipulating device identity.

3. Moving to another Mac

You may move a personal license to another Mac by deactivating the current installation and activating the replacement. Only one installation may remain active at a time. If the old Mac is unavailable, contact [email protected] with purchase information; a reset is subject to verification and fraud controls.

4. Restrictions

You may not rent, lease, sublicense, sell, publish or share the software or license key; operate multiple active installations from one personal license; remove proprietary notices; evade technical restrictions; attack the licensing service; or use VolumeKeys to violate law or third-party rights.

You may not use VolumeKeys as a medical, life-support, emergency, alarm, hearing-protection or other safety-critical system, as the sole control for an application in which audio failure could cause injury or property damage, or contrary to the intended-use and responsible-listening requirements in the Terms of Sale and Use.

You may not reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble VolumeKeys except to the limited extent that applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction. Rights granted by mandatory interoperability or security-research law remain unaffected.

5. Ownership and feedback

VolumeKeys, its code, visual identity and documentation remain owned by Studiomood Ltd or its licensors. Apple, macOS and third-party hardware marks belong to their respective owners. VolumeKeys is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple or hardware manufacturers.

References to Apple, macOS and third-party hardware identify external systems or independently documented setups only. They do not state or imply sponsorship, certification, approval or recommendation.

If you voluntarily provide feedback, you permit us to use it to improve VolumeKeys without a payment obligation, but you retain ownership of your original material and we will not publicly attribute a private message without permission.

6. Updates

An update may replace or modify earlier software. These terms apply to updates unless separate terms accompany them. Mandatory rights to conformity and necessary updates are not limited.

7. Termination

The license ends if you materially breach these terms and do not remedy a remediable breach after reasonable notice, or immediately where a serious deliberate breach makes continued licensing unreasonable. On termination, stop using and remove the software. Statutory consumer remedies and accrued rights are unaffected.

8. Law and complete terms

The governing-law and liability provisions in the Terms of Sale and Use apply. If you are a consumer, mandatory rights in your country remain unaffected. If a clause is unenforceable, the remainder continues to the extent lawful.
